Raychem T2 Red . The intelligent, self-regulating, underfloor heating solution.

Raychem T2 Red is a self-regulating underfloor heating cable for reduced height installation. The cable can be installed under any type of floor surface without a risk of overheating. The intelligent heating cable is ideal for improving living comfort in the entire house; from bathroom to children’s rooms.

The Raychem T2 Red and Reflecta system has been certified for wooden floor covering.

We recommend that Raychem T2 Red is installed with T2 Reflecta. This ensures even heat distribution and faster warm-up times.

  • Easy to design:         One heating cable for all shapes of rooms.
  • Flexible:                      Cut-to-length, no cold lead needed.
  • Ideal for renovation: Reduced height (max. 8mm).

Applications.

Living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, dining rooms, children’s rooms, conservatories:

  • Top floor: Tiles, parquet, natural stone, laminate, carpet*.
  • Subfloor: Cement screed, anhydrite screed, wooden floor, gypsum board, timber floor board, asphalt screed.

* must be suitable for underfloor heating (maximum resistance to heat transfer 0.15 W/m2k).

Self-regulating technology.

Self-regulating cables automatically adjust their power output to compensate for temperature changes.

The outer jacket, braid and inner jacket provide mechanical, chemical and electrical protection. The conductive core is extruded over the two parallel conductors and as the ambient temperature drops:

  • The core contracts microscopically. The number of electrical paths through the core increases. More heat is produced.
  • As the ambient temperature rises, the core expands and has fewer electrical paths. Less heat is, therefore, produced.

The self-regulating heating cable adjusts its power output along its entire length. This makes it a safe and reliable solution for many applications.

 

 

Raychem T2 Red has been certified by leading manufacturers of wooden flooring.

Parquet and laminate floors expand and contract depending on the humidity and temperature. Raychem T2 Red heating cable heats up slowly to ensure that the wooden flooring is not damaged by abrupt temperature changes. Once the desired operating temperature is reached, the T2 Red and Reflecta system provides a uniform heat distribution across the entire floor.

How to work out T2 Red requirements

Which power output do I need?

Select the required power output and required cable length per m2.

Multiply the cable length m2 by the total floor surface (m2).

Typical example:

Renovation of 5m2.bathroom with tile floor – 

  • Select ‘Tile flooring’ from the table above.
  • Select approx.output (W/m2) required. This will indicate the amount of cable length needed and the cable spacing.
  • So 70 W/m2 will require 5 m cable per m2 of flooring- with 200mm spacing.
  • 5m2 (surface area) x 5m T2 Red cable = 25m T2 Red cable.

Please note: One T2 Red connection and End seal kit is required per 100m of T2 Red cable.

How to work out the number of T2 Relecta packs.

T2 Red with T2 Reflecta, guarantees a uniform temperature level across the room and an extremely fast heat up and reduced heat-loss. The aluminium layer and insulation of the T2 Reflecta minimises downward heat loss and provides heat faster.

 Determine the required number of T2 Reflecta plates.

One 1m2 pack of T2 Reflecta covers 0.944 m2. It consists of 3 pcs T2 Reflecta plates (720mm x 400mm) and 2 pcs of end plates (100mm x 400mm).

One 3m2 pack of T2 Reflecta covers 3.12 m2. It consists of 10 pcs T2 Reflecta plates (720mm x 400mm) and 6 pcs of end plates (100mm x 400mm).

 Example: Entrance hall of 10m2 with wooden floor.

  1. Select 70 W/m2 power output = 10m T2 Red cable per m2. (spacing is 100mm)
  2. 10 (m2)x 10 (T2 Red cable needed) = 100m of T2 Red cable.
  3. Number of T2 Reflecta plates required:-  10(m2) ÷ 3.12 (area covered by 3m2 pack) =3.2 packs 

We would suggest that you order 3 packs of 3m2 T2 Reflecta plates and 1 pack of 1m2 T2 Reflecta.

 
The T2 Reflcta plates provide:

  • 20% extra energy saving through integrated insulation.
  • Even and adaptive heat distribution in floor.
  • Flexible interior design. Due to the self-regulating effect there is no risk for overheating under rugs, furniture etc.
  • Automatic self-regulating output depending on environment. More output in cold zones, less output in warm zones.
  • No measurable electro-magnetic fields.
  • Long life and maintenance free.

The T2 Reflecta plate have: – Installation grooves  –  insulation & integrated aluminium heat distribution layer.

T2 Reflecta Applications:
