Thermostat MCS 450 WIFI Touch

The programmable Smart Home Thermostat MCS 450 is an intelligent and innovative touch thermostat for controlling electric underfloor heating. The MCS 450 offers versatile setting options and is very user-friendly.

The MCS 450 offers you the possibility to operate your underfloor heating from anywhere and at any time. You have various options. You can go the classic route and make your settings directly on the thermostat or use the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app. Still not enough? Then the MCS 450 also offers you the option of voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

You can manage and control other smart devices within the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app. For example, you can add more thermostats from other rooms or connect your smart thermostat to a window sensor (available from us) and thereby operate your underfloor heating in a particularly energy-efficient manner. You can also add other users in your household in the app.

The MCS 450 has three different modes:

Manual Mode

The thermostat maintains the set temperature constantly.

ECO mode

The thermostat keeps the temperature at a comfortable and energy-saving 20 °C.

Program Mode

The thermostat works with the temperatures and times you individually set. 

The device has a floor sensor (included in delivery) and a room sensor (built into the device) to control the temperature. The thermostat can therefore be used to control the floor temperature or the room temperature. It is also possible to activate the floor and room sensors at the same time.

To install the MCS 450 you need the flush-mounted box included in delivery.

Warranty:

Thermostats sold by THP UK Ltd, are covered by a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase.

The warranty is applicable under the following conditions:

  • The product has been used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions
  • The product hasn’t been misused, abused, or modified without authorization
  • The original proof of purchase is retained and presented upon request

30-year guarantee on all heating mats and heating cables for tiles We are convinced of the quality of our products – That is why warm-on offers its customers a 30-year garantie* on all heating mats and heating cables from 24.04.2017. This service does not have to be paid additionally, but is covered by default with the purchase price.

Products that come with a 30-year guarantee are visibly marked as such in our store.

Conditions for making a guarantee claim:

The floor covering with the heating system installed under it is in normal use – it has not been lifted, repaired or replaced after installation of the heating system.

The product may only be installed by a licensed electrician.

The product must be registered with us within 30 days of purchase with a fully completed inspection report.

* Improper handling or installation by unauthorized personnel will result in immediate exclusion of the guarantee.

Legal guarantee

The legal guarantee period of 24 months from receipt of the goods applies to all articles. warm-on is liable for material defects according to the applicable legal regulations.

An additional guarantee exists for the goods delivered by warm-on only if this was expressly given in the order confirmation for the respective article.

The manufacturer guarantees the conformity of the heating mats with the design description under the assumption that the installation and operating instructions are observed. If a defect occurs within the guarantee period that can be traced back to faulty manufacture, the customer has the right to subsequent performance.

Damage due to improper handling, damage caused by someone else, incorrect installation (not following the instructions) or consequential damage is excluded from the guarantee. Please keep your proof of purchase.

Guarantee services will only be provided upon presentation of the proof of purchase.

Electric Underfloor Heating (UFH) Installation Checklist
Pre-Installation Checks:
✅ Verify floor suitability for UFH installation.
✅ Ensure proper insulation boards are available to prevent heat loss.
✅ Confirm heating system specifications comply with BS EN 60335-2-96.
✅ Check required IP rating for wet areas (IPX7 for Zone 1 & 2).
✅ Plan for thermostat placement (outside wet zones unless rated for in-zone use).
✅ Ensure heat-resistant cable is available for power connections.

Electrical Compliance:
✅ Installation must follow BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
✅ Install RCD (Residual Current Device) protection.
✅ Verify compliance with Part P of Building Regulations.
✅ Ensure work is carried out by a Part P-registered electrician or inspected by a competent person
scheme (NICEIC, ELECSA, NAPIT).

✅ Provide customer with user manual and maintenance guidelines.
This checklist ensures compliance with UK regulations while promoting safety,

Installation Process:
✅ Measure and mark the total heating area, excluding fixed furniture/appliances.
✅ Lay insulation boards securely before placing heating mats/cables.
✅ Follow manufacturer’s guidelines for cable/mat spacing.
✅Avoid overlapping heating mats and ensure proper floor sensor placement.
✅ Secure heating elements and connect them to the thermostat.
✅ Maintain a 5-10 cm perimeter gap from walls.

Testing & Certification:
✅ Perform continuity, resistance, and insulation resistance tests before and after installation.
✅ Register results with the supplier to guarantee warranty.
✅ Verify heating mat resistance against manufacturer’s specifications.
✅ Issue a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC) or Electrical Installation
Certificate (EIC).
✅ Register installation with Local Building Control, if required.

Post-Installation Checks:
✅ Ensure flooring is compatible with underfloor heating (BS 8204-1 & BS 8204-7).
✅ Verify heating controls are functional and programmed for efficiency.
✅ Ensure system integrates with Building Management Systems (BMS) if applicable.
